How to Delete Pages from a PDF Online for Free (No Upload, No Signup)
I get PDFs with extra pages all the time. Cover sheets from scanners, blank pages, old terms and conditions, duplicate pages, appendixes I don't need. The document is fine, but it is 40 pages when I only need 12.
For a long time my options were bad. Open Adobe Acrobat and pay for a subscription. Upload the file to a random website and hope they deleted it afterward. Or print only the pages I wanted and scan them back in.
There is a simpler way now.
What I Do Instead
Open a browser tab. Upload the PDF. Pick the pages to remove. Download the cleaned file.
The tool: https://en.sotool.top/delete-pages/
Steps:
Open the page in any browser
Upload your PDF
Choose your deletion mode:
By page range: type something like
1, 5-7, 12Select pages: click the page thumbnails you want to remove
Click "Delete Pages"
Download the new PDF
Everything happens in the browser. Your file never uploads to a server.
When This Saves Me Time
Removing scanner cover sheets — The first page is always a blank sheet or a receipt from the copy machine.
Cleaning up reports — The client gets the executive summary, not the 20-page appendix.
Fixing merged PDFs — Someone combined three documents and now there are duplicate title pages in the middle.
Trimming long contracts — Keep the signature pages, drop the old drafts.
Removing blank pages — Scanned documents love to include a final empty page.
Two Ways to Pick Pages
Page range input is fastest when you know the numbers. Type 2-4, 8, 11-13 and it removes all of them.
Visual grid selection is better when you are not sure which page is which. You see every page number, click the ones you want gone, and the red highlights show your selection.
Both modes prevent you from accidentally deleting every page. The tool will stop you if you select all of them.
Why Browser-Based Works Here
PDF page deletion sounds simple, but a lot can go wrong if a server handles it:
Your file sits on someone else's disk
You wait in a queue
File size limits cut you off
The output reorders pages or breaks links
Doing it locally avoids all of that. The PDF loads into your browser, pdf-lib rewrites the document, and you download the result. No queue, no upload, no retention.
What Stays Intact
When pages are removed, the remaining content keeps its original quality:
Text and fonts
Images and vector graphics
Internal links and bookmarks
Metadata like title and author
The tool only removes pages. It does not re-render or recompress the rest.
Limitations (Being Honest)
It deletes whole pages only. You cannot remove a single paragraph or image with this tool.
Page numbering in the viewer is 1-based. Page "5" is the fifth page, not the page labeled "5" if your PDF uses custom numbering.
Very large PDFs with hundreds of pages may take a few seconds to process.
Forms and JavaScript in the PDF may not survive if the pages they depend on are removed.
For simple page removal, none of this is usually a problem.

Need to Edit More Than Pages?
If you need to edit text, add annotations, create forms, or do OCR, a desktop editor like Wondershare PDFelement is worth considering. It runs locally and handles advanced edits that browser tools can't.
