How Blank Page Detection Works

The tool uses pixel analysis to decide whether a page is blank. Here's the logic in simple terms:

  1. Render the page onto a canvas

  2. Count the number of non-white pixels

  3. Compare against a threshold — if less than a small percentage of the page has content, mark as blank

  4. Repeat for every page

This works well for:

  • Pages that are truly empty

  • Pages with only faint scan noise
